Grand Theft Auto V is being sold on eBay just hours after going on sale…at an incredible mark up.
Amazon has already sold out of the £35 game and as supply can’t keep up with demand, the hottest title in the gaming is already being offered on eBay for £100 for the standard version and up to £170 for the collector’s edition.
Experts estimate it could break all records for game sales by generating £1 billion during its first year, with estimated sales of around 25 million copies.
GTA V is also being blamed for a new medical phenomena “GTA flu” as many thousands of workers call in sick with a variety of made-up illnesses so they can stay at home and play the game.
Tom Butler, social media editor of gaming site IGN.com, said: “Grand Theft Auto V will be the biggest entertainment launch of the year and possibly all-time with levels of consumer anticipation outstripping Harry Potter and Twilight.
“With gamers queuing at midnight to be among the first to play and the developer boasting thousands of hours of game play, there’s no surprise that we’re likely to see an outbreak of GTA flu this September.”
